NON ACADEMIC STAFF UNION SUSPENDS STRIKE AT BSU.

By Avase George
The strike action embarked upon by the non academic joint staff union of the Benue State University, BSU, has been suspended.
The suspension came at the end of a congress meeting held at the collage of health sciences' auditorium 1 at 10.00 AM this morning. The joint action chairman, Mr. Adingi, informed the congress that the state government has agreed to attend to the grievances of the workers as soon as funds are available.
A letter signed by the chief of staff to the governor, Mr. Terwase Orbunde was read in part. The letter specified that government has agree to pay the allowances in question. The payment will, however, be spread across six instalment quarterly.
Satisfied therefore with the position of the government, the union accordingly, suspended the strike action for now. Work is to resume fully next Monday.
